An internship can help young people get to know themselves better, work on different projects and thus find out what suits them best and gives them the most pleasure. But also the other side – the employers – benefit from this experience. Our interns at xalution are very important to us. They bring us fresh ideas and a different point of view. Through their creative approaches and their view from the outside, we can integrate new perspectives. We also asked our intern Julia a few questions about her time at xalution …
- How would you describe the working atmosphere at xalution in three words?
Open – modern – familiar.
- What were your highlights at xalution so far?
I was allowed to independently conduct a DevOps training at a customer’s site, that was really cool. But also the tapas dinner with colleagues after work and the xalution company summit at Matcha Lake in summer, where I could also get to know the international colleagues, were highlights.
- What makes the field of IT consulting so interesting for you?
I would say it’s the variety – in the tasks and challenges. But I’m also attracted by the travel and the many insights you can gain as an external consultant into a wide variety of companies, their processes and structures. Overall, I think IT consulting will continue to be in high demand in the future, especially for modernization and to make everyday work easier.
- What does lunch time look like at xalution?
Usually I go outside with the other colleagues – since our office is only a few steps away from Nuremberg’s main market, you have a wide choice of different delicacies – falafel, Asian or “Drei im Weckla”. Or you can sit together in the coffee kitchen and chat about life and the world. – It’s a good balance and you can relax for a while.
- What can applicants expect from an internship at xalution?
Besides very welcoming colleagues and flexible working hours, I was particularly impressed by the hands-on mentality. From the beginning, I was a respected team member who was allowed to actively involve myself and take on responsibility. There is a lot of trust in the employees and as an intern you work both independently and with colleagues in the team.
- What are your plans after the internship?
I am studying business administration in Munich and am now in my 5th semester. That’s where I’ll be putting my focus for now – and of course I hope that there will also be lectures on site again.
